Learnt this lesson 13/10/11

In todays lesson i learnt what the narrative of our music video is going to be and also finished crew list, shot list, timeline and also published my mood board on blogger.com.
We also try to take pictures of our location, but couldn't because their was no care taker, to allow us to go on to the school building.
We are planning to do this next lesson.

Shot list/lighting

When we start making our music video we will use a range of camera shots like:

29/09/11 Group Discussion/ notes from todays lesson

i learnt the different types of music videos and what makes them different and also wrote about what message they portray through moving images.
we had a group discussion and decided to pic a few songs and chose the best one to dance to, this will make it easier to understand the dance moves and the performance on stage. however finding a song was hard because we couldn't chose a song that already had a music video made professionally, this was because we could copy there ideas which means that we would get less marks and won't be able to be more creative. in our group we have four people:

Change of plans AGAIN!!!

As some people can't make up their minds we have changed the song back to Beautiful lasers and we are hoping we don't change it AGAIN!!!

Todays lesson Objectives 5/10/11

Today we are planning to:

  • find out what our video is going to be like.
  • do a risk assessment on the locations chosen
  • and if possible start our story board. 

Change of plans 5/10/11

We have change our song from beautiful lasers to Chris brown freeze because it was a better song to dance to all our group members agreed.

Location Theatre/Top of school building Risk assessment

The location we have chose as a group for our music video is the Sidney stringer academy theatre and also the top of their building. We chose these locations because it has a good view over the city centre and the theatre has a lot of affects can will help us with lighting, sound an background it will make it look more realistic.
Risk in the Theatre
There might be some risks in the theatre when were filming, this is because there are a lot of electrical equipment and also we will be filming the first scene in pitch black and there are no glow strips on the floor near the steps to see where we're going. This problem will be resolved if we have basic instructions on how to use the equipment and how to put on the emergency lights on. We will also need to make sure we don't trip over the chairs and the rails. This can be avoided if we stay in the area we are filming only, however if we want a high shot then we might need to work near the chairs but it will be better if only one person works their.
We must make sure that there is no smoking in the location we are working this is because the smoke alarms will go on and also their could be a risk of a fire which will put everyone in school in danger.
The health and safety ricks on stage for our dancer can be that the floor might be slippery according to what shoes he wears.

Risks on top of the school building
The risks that might accrue on top of the building might be that you can fall of the edge of the building. However there is a sign which says no unauthorised person allowed beyond this point. this will keep reminding us that were we can walk around and film that scene. Another risk might be that there is can argument between the group members this will be a risk because they could start fighting and fall of the building. to resolve this problem we will need to sit as a group and say what we're going to be doing before we go on the top of the building.

group meeting notes 3/10/11

Our film is going to be produced as a performance video also a small part of narrative, Munashe and Haris Umair, Haris Zulfiqar and kashif will be part of the dancing and performance of the video and also the narrative.
we have decided to use the theatre for good effects and lighting, we are also going to use the top of sidney stringer academy to show an overview of the city.
the song chosen is Beautiful lasers by Lupe fiasco because it has a good beat with a bit of narrative.
we are planning to start the video with a lot of affects at the beginning of the video we will decided at a different date what else will be happening in the video.

Mise-en-scene of Florence & The Machine- Rabbit Heart--

The mise-en-scene of Florence & the machine rabbit heart is that the clothes and make-up look very pure as all the women are wearing bright white to make them look smart and the men are also wearing smart clothes in variety of colours. The main lady reveals herself by taking a black sparkling cloth over her face which indicates that she coming out of her darkness and poorness into the real world was she can enjoy. was wearing a black cloak and takes it of as she walks forward then it shows her purity the black will indicate her poorness and how her status is changing as her background lightens up as the other two women dance with her and how she changes it shows her tiara closely to show she's someone special as they show a close up of her earrings that is triangle that has a dot in the centre to show the significant of her beliefs. The quality of the clothes looks good so it goes good with the video because it makes it better and more enjoyable to watch. All of the characters seem young which means that they still got life ahead of them. One of the young males is wearing a black blazer with a cream shirt and also a top hat to add a bit more smartness but also a bit of immaturity. The people in the background playing the instruments are wearing black as they have came to a funeral which does happen at the end of the video.

The make-up of the min lady is very white and shining to show her happiness as she is being revealed to her new life however in some parts of the clip it shows a bit of sadness with the make-up as they use a dull colour for the eye shadow. The make up done on the male at the end shows their sadness and as if they had tires coming out of there eyes.

The location used for this video is park as it is surrounded my nature with green grass and trees this is good for this video because it’s like there having a picnic or a last supper. The colour green will also indicate the peace as you can see other animals like birds around you. It also helps because birds will sing in a park and being in a park sing and dancing show the openness of the world and the freedom. The riveris a good way to end the video because it is a significant of peace the same as the green grass and trees. The sound of the water is good when they put the main lady in t at the end.

The lighting used for this video is most high key especially when they show a close up of the main lady however at the starting of the video it’s a bit dull and colour less before she is revealing herself from the black but after it brightens up and a lot of high key lighting is then used. The lighting is coming from one side to show as it was nearly sunset as it reflects of the lake and shows as if something like an angle is coming near to it.  The lighting fades away at the end as she's in the middle of the lake and the lights only on her and the rest is dull.

The props used in this video are instruments played by men standing right at the back of the main characters wearing black. There are also a tiara and hats been worn by the main characters for affect that there special. They had a similar prop used for the food, they had chicken, pig, and fruit and also drinks. A coffin was used for the end of the video when she bee’s drifting away in the river. These props played an important part in the video because it shows why they were in the park in the first place. 

The body language of the characters didn’t seem to me that it was very well put together it was quite difficult in some parts to really understand what she’s doing and where she is. The characters seemed to me as they were confused and didn’t really understand their role in the video.  However ther face expression did show there feelings and emotions well when they were happy at the beginning and when they were sad at the end of the video.
