Unit 1 Task 1

Budget- This is the amount of money the business will use to complete the project. They will buy their equipment, crops and other things they need according to the budget. This is a very important element because if the business wants to make profit over their production they need to make sure that it easier if they spend less and look for alternatives if they can't get what they want. The benefit of having a higher budget is that the business can use the best equipment to make the best quality video and performance.

Risk assessment for each location- This is a major part in pre-production everyone needs to understand and thing that is a risk to health and safety. This will be done for each location before they start planning to film their. this will allow the production team to know what they will need to adjust the problems.

Timeline analysis of chosen song- This is when you split the song up in different section according what part will be located where. Also you will do this to split the verse to make sure the timing of the song and when the verse will start. This is important because it makes it easier to know where that part on the song will be performed and saves time.

Storyboard-
This happen once you have came up with a concept.
Your storyboard will show some of the following information:
What charaters are in the frame, and how are they moving?
What are the characters saying to each other, if anything?
How much time has passed between the last frame of the storyboard and the current one?
Where the "camera" is in the scene? Close or far away? Is the camera moving?
This is very important so the director knows whats going to happen in the next shot, it makes it easier for the character to know and also helps the director keep it ideas. Sometimes things might changed however most on the time they stay the same. This is also important because knowing the camera angles is very so you don't waste time.

Crew List - this show who's part of the production project, this is important so you know who will be on scene at that particular time. It help when it comes to health and safety.

Shot List - this is what camera shots they will use in that scene for example:
Long Shot
Close Up
Pan
Mid Shot
Extreme long shot
medium close up etc.
This is important so they use a range of different shots.

Research into films/Music videos - This is very important to understand how professional videos are made so that the standard of my music video is similar. Also the benefit of this is you can see the different camera angles and choose which one is the best.

Location list
Location List shows where all the locations are, this makes it easier when doing the risk assessment. This also allow the production to understand where there going to film and what they need to do. It speeds up the process. Also the benefit of this is that the business will be able to look for alternative locations.

Pitch to gain feedback
It is very important for a business to do a pitch in front of an audience, it gives the business a chance to get back any crustal information such as strength, weaknesses and improves. this allows the production team to produce something that more people will be willing to watch. this will allow the business to gain more support and money.

Mise-en-scene
This is a major part in production, clothes, props, make-up, effects etc. All of this needs to be done to make the Music video look professional. Choosing the right clothes for the right place show a contrast of the song, all the moments and clothes will be based on the song. Lighting will be based on the song also with a more darker feeling or relaxed feeling etc. Its very important to get all theses elements right. New Music Videos these days will use green screen or some other colours to changed the background, getting the lighting correct in this section to give it a more professional finish. Mise-en-scene will be done for all productions, its necessary to do this properly to allow the factor of the production to give a feeling which suits that genre. Effects will be done after the filming is done , this process takes longer then the filming itself, effects are chosen specify according to the type of production it is and the target audience etc.

Why we chose black and white for our music video.

After some research i found out that black and white is normally used in a sad or depressed song. Our song Beautiful Lasers is a depressed song, so being black and white goes well with it.

Analiys of Our Music Video

In the process of our Music video we learn a lot. We used new software Adobe Premiere Pro to edit and video, we did have some problems which were resolved as fast as possible. We completed our Music video on deadline with the per-production elements.
We used different shots and locations to create different environment. The whole movie was black and white.
As a group i think we worked extremely hard and well together,  we showed this by everyone participating in the pre-production. production and editing. for example: we worked together in filming when we needed to camera or when we where on the roof we needed to work together because we had limited time.
We used Long shots, Close up, Pan, extreme long shot, Medium shot, Tilt.  This was done to show that we understand the different shots and the effect why they should be used.
The different locations were used because it makes the music video a bit more interesting and helps keeps the concentration of the audience. The locations changed and increased in the process of our music video. We added the location of gym and included a green scene to test how it works. This helped us to learn something new and make our video unique to fellow classmates. We had two people in our music video Munashe dancing and also singing, we also had Haris Umair rapping. The Music Video did have some shots we retook and also so videos didn't load up to the software.
Our video has been put on YouTube and has got 5 likes and 2 dislikes. This shows that our video is liked and can also have improvements to make it better. One improvement as a group we came up with was to add a bit more performance by Haris Umair, however we did try but for some technical reason the clips wouldn't load.

Filming on Green screen
when editing
green screen will be removed and replaced by a background of you choice. it means that you can be in any place you want we can do this by: performing a scene in front of the green screen and changing the background. it is very important that you chose the correct file type in order it to work.
softwares that can be used are:

Sony Vegas pro 9, Adobe Premiere Pro

it is very important that you chose the correct lighting and make sure that their are no shadows that interfere with the filming. the lighting will also be affected by what the background is, this will make the image stand out and will make it easier to understand that your using a green screen. in this you will also be able to use video for example a racing track.

14/11/11 Filming Rooftop

today we filmed on the root top of sidney stringer academy. we filmed Haris Umair's part and also made him sing the whole, we did this because we wanted to make sure that if the narrative doesn't fit in well we have a backup and also it might make the music video look better and more understandable. in today's filming Kashif was the clipper, I was the director and Munashe was the camera man which gives everyone to use the camera.
